KRISS MagEx exploded!! Empty KRISS MagEx exploded!!

Post by Solscud007 Thu Sep 27, 2012 3:43 pm

So I was trying out my KRISS mags on my new Glock 21 FDE and I had a fully loaded KRISS extended mag. I dropped it accidentally on the hardwood floor of my dining room. It exploded when it hit the ground. All the bullets came out along with the spring and follower. The insert stayed in the sleeve. So I think the seam, where the mag and extension meet, is the weak spot. I was using a postban 13 rd mag too. I had the stronger mag spring in there as well.

Watch out dropping full mags. They might pop open.

Duly noted. That's a little scary. I have a couple of magExs I put together, so I'll have to treat em gingerly.

Or, conduct a drop test of my own...

Try a drop test. I swap mag bodies all the time. Preban - post ban depending where I shoot the KRISS. maybe that has something to do with it. Im gonna downgrade to my first gen extended mag spring. Maybe less tension will help it not explode.

Oh yeah when I reassembled it. I didnt notice any signs of wear or weakspots.
