Day at the range Empty Day at the range

Post by Xn0r Thu Jan 17, 2013 4:19 am

Took the Vector to the outdoor range (along with my SCAR) and shot it at 100 yds.

Hitting steelies with my Vector (with my EOTech zeroed for about 20 yds) took a bit of "trying", because it was dark, and I had no idea where my shots were landing. But eventually I found the right hold and was hitting the steelies pretty consistently. A lot more challenging, and in same ways more satisfying with the Vector than my .308 SCAR.

Guys in the next booth over said they could pretty much see the shots going through the air on the way to the target. Guess 'cause of the size of the 230 gr bullets going "only" 600ish MPH for 100 yds. Smile

Definitely want to go back and try some more, maybe during the day.

Yeah that has happened to me quite often. If you have a light source like the sun setting behind you, sometimes the bullet catches the light and its almost like a tracer. When I shot the Kriss in the dark with my freefloat rail setup, having my Scoutlight at the end, unimpressed by the shroud, it lights up the bullets and I can see them hit the targets.

@Solscud007:

BTW, I had no malfunctions w/ the Vector shooting 200 rds through it! Only malfunction I've ever had was when I tried to put some Winchester JHPs through it and got a FTF. But just one (supposedly HP in Kriss is a no no).

Am I just lucky?

Did you get yours back from Kriss yet?

Not yet. They said it is done. But after talking to Charlie, the gun tech, he will take another look at it.

Wow they've had it a long time. Well hopefully when you get it back it'll be as reliable as mine has been (knock on wood).

I put 300 rds through it this week with zero failures. All Jack Ross reloads.
