Light primer strike fix
Just got a new gen 2 vector pistol in 9mm, and was having a light primer strike 1-2 rounds out of every 50. (Yes I did a thorough cleaning before I began firing) These malfunctions were during the first 200 rounds I fired.
I ended up removing the bolt and noticed the firing pin was EXTREMELY gritty feeling as i pushed it forward into the bolt.
I thought perhaps the spring was oversized or made to be strong to prevent double taps, so I figured I would try something I rarely ever do...
I decided to lube the firing pin channel. I placed the straw tip of a can of pressurized Ballistol into the firing pin hole, gave it a squirt, and out came a massive blob of what looked like a mixture of molybdenum and copper grease. It was quite dark, yet had gold flecks in it.
I don't mean a tiny bit came out, it was like a quarter of a thimble full.
I then soaked the bolt, squirted again and the firing pin became immensely smoother.
After another 200 rounds, not a single problem.
Ammo used so far: Browning, Fiochi, CCI Blazer (brass and aluminum) and American Eagle Synthetic.
