Form 1 questions
In the process offiling out the Form 1 and theres a few questions I have. In block 4D it asks for "Model". When I did my SBR AR15 I put "AR15" in the block and that was good enough fot the ATF. What woulkd the Kriss be? "Super V"? "Vector"? What have yall put?
Also? Anyone tell me the overall length of the Kriss SBR with the stock fully extended? Thanks.

Re: Form 1 questions
Hi beltfed! I noticed your post and thought I'd put in my 3 cents worth! I'm watiing on a Form 1 also. Its been gone since Feb. 16th (also, a form 4 too for a "CAN"). What I typed in on section 4D was Kriss Super V Vector CRB/SO per manual and the OAL of SBR w/stock extended per manual is 24". Time will tell if I did it right but should be ok as stated in manual. Hope this helps and someone else on the forum will probably chime in too. I may add I like my Kriss alot I've had NO problems with it as of yet.

Re: Form 1 questions
Thanks.
That sounds about right on the model. I figure if I were SBRing an HK MP5 I would put MP5 in the model block.
Switchblade, do you have a SDP or CRB Right now? Whats your plans on doing the actual conversion? Thanks.

Re: Form 1 questions
Hello again beltfed! yes I've had the Kriss now about 2 1/2 months. Its the CRB w/16" Bbl. I decided to SBR it and get with my lawyer to write up an NFA gun Trust (NOBODY here in Dallas county will sign off!). Anyway, I called the Kriss main office and talked w/Eric and he gave me all the instructions on what to do when the paperwork comes back. I'll enclose a M.O. for $452+postage and a copy of my form1 and send the gun to him. The conversion takes about 3 weeks and when done he sends me the gun back SBR'd. When the form4 gets back I'll go pick up my Silencerco .45Osprey.

Re: Form 1 questions
Yup basically the same instructions I got but backwards. I have the SDP and it's the same process but $300 for them to install the folding stock. My form 4 for AAC TiRant 45 was sent back in December, I feel your pain. I thought about installing he stock kit from Kriss myself for $70 but I'm waiting on a response from Kriss about how that will affect the warranty........
Are we the only two Kriss owners doing it on a form 1? There's no info out there I an find. Hey, have you thought about what your gonna do for engraving?

Re: Form 1 questions
Yep,
already have a company across the lake from me that does it all the time. They have the special SOT license and do the engraving as per NFA instructions. As far as us waiting on a form1 I think I saw another post that is doing one if I'm not mistaken.

Get ready for a wait! ha, after they do a form 1, then a form 3, and then your form 4, it takes a while, but worth it.

Re: Form 1 questions
Hello Again Glocks...Yep its going to be a long summer. I don't expect any word until August or September even having my lawyer make up an N.F.A. Trust (his specialty and he also holds a class 3 license) the Trust should help in cutting the time but I hear its not much at all. So, I'll shoot my other toys to keep me busy! Hear from you later.

Re: Form 1 questions
I don't want to crush your dreams, but I want you to have a realistic time frame haha. It took my Kriss a little over a year door to door... Sent it off in December of 2010, got it back in February of 2012. Also, trusts don't really speed up anything at all... had an individual and a trust transfer gone at the same time, but the trust took longer. The whole thing is a crap shoot and it's just going to get longer.

Re: Form 1 questions
For you guys doing form 1 conversion where exactly are you planning on putting your engraving? I can't decide on a good spot. When I built my sbr ar15 I had the lower receiver engraved. From what I understand now is that ATF says any parts of the gun that is not easily removeable and in plain sight....thoughts?

Re: Form 1 questions
Hello Glocks......Yep, your probably right. I was just telling my wife earlier today that after all said and done it'll probably go beyond possibly into early next year! I've got other toys to shoot that will keep me busy and my mind off of the Kriss for awhile. Eric at the factory told me it takes them about 3 weeks to do the SBR but they send in a form 3 and it takes months for that to come back. I'll probably be shooting the "CAN" from the form 4 before the Kriss gets back. Going to go cry in by beer some more

Re: Form 1 questions
Hi Beltfed, about the engraving I've decided to have it put in the recessed area just behind the magwell on the Kriss. It'll be in plain sight on the lower unit. I've got a company across the lake that does it all the time and they are aware of the ATF specs and they have the special license (SOT).
