Best route to take to get from SDP to SBR
I am getting my SDP Friday and am trying to figure out if I want to send it to Kriss and let them register it as a SBR then Form 3 it to my FFL and wait OR
Form 1 it and use it as a pistol until approved and then engrave and send it to Kriss for "repair"?
I am concerned like many about a possible AWB in the next few months. From what I have read based on the 1994 laws if I Form 1 it I am most likely screwed if the AWB passes and takes effect before I get my tax stamp approved as it will have to comply with those laws since I am "manufacturing" it after that date.

Actually, if you know how to take things apart and put them back together again. You can perform the SBR conversion yourself. it is very easy.

From what I've read NFA items didn't apply to the AWB of 94 so you should be good either way...

That is what I thought as well until someone started posting approved Form 1s from 1994/95 with a nice red BATFE stamp on the bottom of them stating the firearm must comply with USC blah blah blah (AWB of 1994).

you have a better chance of keeping your NFA weapon than just a weapon you could sell to anyone

While the public perceives NFA weapons as dangerous Guncite.com reports that there have only been two murders since 1934 involving legally registered Machine Guns and one of those was by a police officer.
