45 fmj 230gr Empty 45 fmj 230gr

Post by toneotone Sun Jan 20, 2013 9:04 pm

I have a Vector CBR purchased in early Dec. I have not shot it. I also purchased New ARMSCOR 45 ACP 230gr FMJ earlier in the year, for my PARA 1911. No problems using it in the 1911. The KRISS site shows in the tec spec that 45 ACP 230gr FMJ recommended. It seems that I read somewhere that there is a recommended ammo list By Brand for the KRISS VECTOR CBR. Just wondering if this is correct? I would like to use the new ARMSCOR ammo.Would using not recommended ammo void warranty?

Federal Premium Ammunition 230grn shoots great for me. I also have a 1911 I love em both. Have not had luck with the 185grn's but thats ok 230grn ammo is pretty much standard everywhere. How about that ammo shortage? the vector is the only weapon I can shoot! there is no ammo for 9mm .223 or even 40s&w but good ol 45 acp is mostly in stock, yay for kriss! I have noticed that the 230grn's shoot better on the vector, probably because they have more recoil? idk.

Correct! Here is the ammunition page for the Vector (all flavors): http://www.kriss-usa.com/ressources/customer-service/ammunition-info

As for voiding your warranty, that comes with the use of reloads.

Using ammo that is not listed may work just fine. The list KRISS USA posts is what is "known" to run reliably.

I am soo tired of hearing this..... Mad IL GUN LAWS 101 attention
I live in COOK CO and own one, also a couple FS2000s (yes legally) Here is the breakdown Cook Co has an AWB since 2006 (Blair Holt AWB)....There are about 30 towns within Cook, Chicago being the biggest. IL is a Home Rule State (Most are) Home Rule gives a municipality the power to exclude a county code and adopt State code instead, or write their own. Most towns in Cook are Home Rule and have their own firearm ordinances. Basically the Cook Co AWB was put in place for Shit-cago. I run into this here and there. The big places like Budsguns/Grabagun and stuff know the legalities. I ran into the issue with Blacklabel, he refused to sell it to me. Some places make you fax in your DL and FOID (IL firearm Owner ID) card to complete the transaction.
All in all IL is not that bad, but Chicago is. CCW 5 months away. But I hold FL and UT non-res for traveling.

When I was picking up my Kriss at my FFL I was telling him how BL would not sell to me. He laughed also. Keep in mind this guy is retired LEO, had his shop for over 30 years. The liabilities would fall on him, he is transferring the gun and running the check. Basically most towns in Cook outside of Chicago are OK to own. Anyway when its transferred to the FFL we have to do the paperwork and mandatory wait. pistol 3 days/long 1 day, applies to private sales also.

Here is a great example, yesterdays winner on the GRABAGUNs M&P AR 15 was a Niles resident which is in COOK CO. Niles restrictions on ARs are legal to obtain but illegal to sell. wtf
Here is another one - I can buy a Kriss mag from my LGS but not Kriss itself.

So basically Chicago is the only part of IL with the AWB.

IL does have a no SBR/Cans rule though==State law

With 4 trips to the range I am pushing 500 plus rounds of ARMSCOR 230gr thru my Vector without any problems. I have only used ARMSCOR ammo in my Vector at 350.00 a 1000. The ammo seems a little dirty , but will be using Remington and Winchester to compare.
Thanks to all who contribute to this forum. With that info I found a PowerTac Cadet light ,adapter ring ,batteries and Bi-pod grip all under 150.00. Today my 2 Kriss mag extension arrived and are now put together on the Glock 13rd mags. I tried them with a 10rd , but the fit was tight. The insides are ribbed. I love My Kriss!!

I lived in peoples republic of IL for awhile, it sucks, that FOID card is some BS, can't buy ammo at walmart w/out one but i drive across river to STL and buy all i want, so stupid. IL will never ever ever allow CCW, if they are saying that it's to shut you up for awhile.

Back in Ohio, land of the free, only gripe on Ohio laws is i can't carry at my kids school = retarded.

PMC 230 gr works flawless in my kriss sbr, kriss extended 25+ mags or glock 13 rd mags. If it's 230 gr ball ammo, just shoot it.
