1st clean....
I cleaned my Kriss CRB for the first time today. Shot 75 rounds of Speer lawman, and it was VERY dirty. Cleaned/lubes my vector exactly as the manual states, using tried and true hoppes 9 and regular ol' gun oil. That's the way I've cleaned guns for 30 years. Then I decided to google search cleaning processes and saw several posts/praises about frog lube. Has anyone here used the product? I'd like to hear the good and the bad from Kriss owners, not the general shooting public. I'm very leary about experimenting with my Kriss even though I'm sure there are better products that have been produced since I was a teenager. But I don't want to close my mind to better/easier ways of doing things either...thoughts?

I'm interested to hear your report....
My concern is that it seems to be the consensus of the forum that the kriss likes to be run wet....which is kinda contra to how I've researched the product is used as it seems the "lube" part of frog lube is simply the slick Teflon like residue it leaves behind...unless I'm missing something....

I use MilCom TW25b, recommended by Sig for my Sigs. Seems to work well.

Re: 1st clean....
I went ahead and ordered some frog lube just out of curiotsity. Not going to try it on my Kriss yet, but I have one of my handguns in mind as a guinea pig. If it sucks I'll go back to petro products and that will be the end of that.... But I hope it works as advertised though.

Re: 1st clean....
I just recently switched to the entire frog lube line for my guns.
I have yet to fire the vector after its first treatment but my handguns shoot like a dream with the stuff. I stripped and frog lubed the vector yesterday I will let you know how it performs when I get to the range at some point this week.
I am pretty sold on the stuff...the kriss will be its final test haha

I have always been told if it rotates it needs oiled if it slides it needs greased

I use Frog lube on my pistols -- love it. Not on the V yet but I will -- guns clean easy. Amazon has it.
Gotta strip out all oils/grease off gun first. Then put it on and let it sit --kinda heat treat it on after.

Re: 1st clean....
Frog lube arrived today and I cleaned 3 pistols using the product as directed. Used denatured alcohol to remove all the prior petro product residue , then simply applied with the supplied brush to heated parts, wiped off excess and presto it was done! If my range time proves to be a positive experience I think my hoppes will be a thing of the past. But I still don't have the guts to experiment on my kriss yet with the froglube until I hear more feedback from the board on their experiences.

I like Ballistol cleans, lubricated, protects, and preserves. not trying to endorse it or anything everyone uses some similar product or products, I just like ballistol.

Re: 1st clean....
Well since there don't seem to be any ringing endorsements for frog lube from the board, I've decided to go in another direction with my Kriss. I do like the frog lube and think that I will be able to continue to use it on my pistols, but since the consensus is that the Kriss likes to run wet, I think I am going to try the Mil-comm products. There seem to be good reviews out there, and I like that its not petroleum based. We will see what happens.

Re: 1st clean....
All these great mystery lubricants out there . I have tried many and always go back to the magical Mobil 1 synthetic , easy to clean off carbon , does not dry out quickly from heat up like some of the other stuff I have used in the past . not to mention a $7 quart will probably last my entire life

Re: 1st clean....
I usually clean after every use. I can see even the crappiest lube out there working for a few hundred rounds.
Keep in mind also--The wetter the dirtier.

Just ordered some of that Slip 2000! Every page I found it had excellent reviews.

Re: 1st clean....
Just ran 150 rounds through it. Independance Ammo.
FrogLubed it last week- 1st application I let it sit wet. -shot it - Wiped clean with a microfiber rag only. Squeeky clean, not one mark of wear.
I will froglube it again letting it sit wet at least 1 more time. I typically run stuff on the dry side. I think most overlube.
2 FTE's
1st one was a little out of battery - flashed out a little next round chambered but old case was pinched
2nd was on the last round I pulled the mag out and fired = FTE

Hmmm, keep your thoughts coming. I think this thing is going to be tricky as to what it likes.
Like kipp said, don't over lube it.
that just wants to collect dirt and grit.

My rule of thumb is if you can see your fingerprints in the oil, on the gun, its probably too much
