First time at range with KRISS...mostly great.

So took my KRISS SDP out to the range for the first time today. It is new to me (not sure how many rounds the previous owner put through it.)

First, I'm amazed at the accuracy of the gun. OK I was only shooting it at 25 yds, but still amazed at how much better/tighter my groups were versus my other guns. Very very impressive. Almost felt like I could hit the center without really concentrating hard. I could rapid fire pretty good and stay right on target. Not sure I've ever smiled so much while shooting.

The not so good is I had 3 malfunctions in only 150 rounds. I'm a little concerned and I may need to send it off to KRISS. I plan to take it out for a longer session (300 rounds or so) and see how it performs. Were it not for the malfunctions I would think I have the holy grail of guns.

What were the malfunctions?

FTE's...

Bad ammo? Dirty gun?

I honestly don't think that was the problem. I tried a couple different types of ammo.

But to your point, I've thoroughly cleaned the gun and I plan to take three different types of ammo to the range this weekend. I plan to shoot 100 rounds of each type and see how it goes.

I LOVE this gun and sooooo hope this turns out not to be a systemic issue.

It's just been my experience that Fte rarely results from the gun, most time ammo, dirt, magazine in that order. But you're on the right track by doing what you've done so far and going back to the range. Good luck,
