Raddlock Button Empty Raddlock Button

Post by Jubz Sat Oct 26, 2013 2:21 pm

I'm sure folks have done this; thought I'd put up a photo.

Being in CA and using a Raddlock for the mag release, I wanted an easy mag release solution for "free state" use without having to remove the Raddlock, which uses different sized hex screws that replaces the stock ones. I had simply cut up a stiff polymer rail cover to make a button that's inserted into the Raddlock hole. The button is cut so there's a bevel at the bottom, which keeps it in the hole and prevents shooting out when inserting a mag. Made up a handful of these, which are in a pill ziplock bag and stored in the handle. The pic shows the cuts; easy enough with a sharp knife.

I'm also in SoCal and just bought a KRISS. Mine came as a CA compliant model; stock was already pinned, 10rnd mag, and DIFFERENT bullet button. I'm familiar with the Raddlock but not this specific model. Can you show me more on how it's installed?

Mine is also a CA compliant version. Stick an allen key into the small bullet button hole, depress then snap off the bullet button plate by bending the allen key forward towards the front of the magwell; it comes off easy since it's just weakly epoxied in place.

The Kriss Raddlock comes with 2 extended allen screws with included allen wrench. Remove the stock 3 mm allen screws in the picture above and install the Raddlock. I also sanded down the sharp edge on the Raddlock which my fingers wrapped over. BTW, be care while installing the Raddlock allen screws as to avoid cross-threading. The Kriss threaded holes aren't chamferred.

Sorry guys. I think the best option is to just move. Joking aside, the recent LAX attack will make things worse for you guys. Keep fighting.

I got the raddlock and extended glock mag release, but the 3mm allens only turn a 1/4 turn before they feel like they are going to snap, and I don't want to break it. Anyone else have this on their kriss?

Yes, and didn't have any problems with the screws. Most likely you have them cross-threaded: it's tough to start them as the holes aren't tapered.

They used generous amounts of red locktite at the factory. I had to use 3 different 3mm Allen's to get it out of the gun. Once I slowly and firmly worked the bolts back and forth repeatedly for 5-10 mins they came out. I wonder of they had problems with the Allen's backing out they had to use so much locktite. At least the raddlock is on and I can finally pull the mag out with new release. It's just a bad design on kriss's part. CA legality is the last thing on their mind though
