New Kriss .45 Help with Part Numbers Empty New Kriss .45 Help with Part Numbers

Post by IMRJS Tue May 26, 2015 9:55 pm

Just bought a used Kriss and I'm located in Canada (Niagara Falls), and can't find a lot of information here. I just took it apart to clean and was wondering if anyone has a "master list" of the newest parts? I took some pictures of the numbers. Could someone please tell me if I should be concerned about any of these part numbers. Also can I anyway tell by the serial number what year my gun was made?  I'm just wondering if I should replace anything before I take it out.

Thank You,

Ryan

my suggestion would be to call Kriss. If you give them your serial, they can tell you if anything has been updated since manufacturing. Nice SBR!!

gm2376, thank you for the reply and comment. I sent them a email yesterday. Just wondering if anyone noticed anything obvious. Not sure what my options are being in Canada. I rather just buy the parts and do it myself. I also have a residence in the USA. The previous owner said he shot 1000 rounds and never had any real issues. I just want to be safe and have few as possible issues.

Thanks,

Ryan

Im pretty sure they will upgrade the parts under warranty. Nothing sticks out, but i think there is a sticky that goes through the revisions. Check that out too.

I did notice that sticky last night. Some of my parts do seem older. However it doesn't tell you why or what they improved on the part better design, safety issue, resolved a function issue. Hopefully Kriss will help me. Looking forward to shooting it! Will keep you posted if I learn anything useful.

Still no reply since May 26th... Been eight days! Guess I will try calling them tomorrow. I just don't have a lot of free time during the day.

I'm in Canada, owner of a Kriss,  I use it and enjoy it , had issues with the mags at the beginning, lots of FTF and FTE, second last round nonsense, figured it out on my own .  Kriss USA won't do anything for you,  they will direct you to North Sylva  as they are the importer of these things into Canada.  My experience with them is not good.  Having bought enough guns and having issues with some of them has taught me that you are on your own once you make a purchase. Unless you find a good gunsmith your expensive toys become boat anchors.  From now on I will stick to mainstream manufacturers , ones for which plenty of parts are available in Canada and have a proven record of satisfied owners.   No more buying on a whim.
