Safety Selector Modification?
Hi all,
Just picked up a Vector gen 2 Enhanced CRB yesterday and so far am in love with it EXCEPT for one thing, the safety selector. The selector is a horrible design and digs into my trigger hand no matter how I hold it. There has got to be someone who has done some sort of modification to remedy this. I don't want to have to dremel the thing down but I will if there is no other simple solution. I'm also willing to buy a new shorter selector switch if someone is manufacturing them.
I've never owned a gen 1 so I dont know if this issue is specific to gen 2 models. Maybe someone else here can chime in on that point.
Are there solutions to this problem?

Re: Safety Selector Modification?
Remove the safety selector lever and reposition it 180 degrees. It will now not dig into your trigger finger. I posted a thread with a pic included about this a couple of weeks ago.

There needs to be a safety delete kit, like what the Scorpion Evo has.

Can I ask why?

This is a quick fix and it's still ambidextrous

I'm not a fan of the right side safety at the moment, and flipping it upside down to be out of the way is not attractive from an aesthetics point of view. With the right side safety on, it interferes with the folding brace I have. A flush fitting plug with an arrow pointing at the safe/fire position is what I want.

Re: Safety Selector Modification?
The real question is not "why?". It's "why not?"
Why would anyone advocate for less options? With how the safety digs into the finger, there really should be a safety delete kit. I'm pretty good with a dremel but I'd be willing to pay money to have a factory option. Who doesn't like money and capitalizm?

Re: Safety Selector Modification?
Exactly. I emailed Kriss inquiring about purchasing a right side saftey, but was told that it wasn't available for purchase at this time. No big surprise there. I was also told that the QD stock pin will be back in stock in the next month, however that was on November 30th, so I am not sure if that means December time frame or January.
Regardless, there is a market, however small, for a saftey delete kit. I'd buy one if it was a flush or near flush fitting unit. If I knew where to get it, I'd try to make my own out of delrin or some other plastic.

Re: Safety Selector Modification?
I was gonna shave mine but only if I could buy a replacement one first, and of course it wasn't available to purchase. So I flipped mine 180 degrees. It doesn't look the best but the operation is great, I can take off the safety with my shooting hand thumb and rengage the safety with my trigger finger. See the big problem here is there isn't a big aftermarket support for this firearm, if it had the support of the AR15 or the Ruger 10/22 we wouldn't be having this discussion. Kriss doesn't help either when a simple part such as a safety selector lever is not available for purchase.

Kriss needs to get on the ball and start putting out replacement parts.

Re: Safety Selector Modification?
Has anyone tried installing an aftermarket safety selector from an AR-15?
Perhaps a short one from Battle Arms Development?

Re: Safety Selector Modification?
I have not. Didn't think of it actually. I wonder if the airsoft safety from the KWA guns would fit?
I was going to look for a piece of black delrin or some other kind of hard plastic and make a safety delete. I just haven't had the time to go through and order anything yet. I am pretty handy with a dremel (least my ego tells me so) and I was just gotta fit a plug into the side of it. I will continue to pester Kriss, but my hopes aren't high to be honest. It's time to start asking other companies for support.

Re: Safety Selector Modification?
While I know it's just a safety selector, I probably would recommend against putting airsoft quality parts on an actual firearm.

Normally I would agree, but seeing as how Kriss doesn't offer the safety's for sale this is one of the few options I could think off. I would get a few just to try and modify, just to get a feel for what a safety delete would be like.

Re: Safety Selector Modification?
HB Industries is making dedicated safety selectors for the Vector; machined from billet aluminum. They are slightly shorter than the factory levers. No more flipping, sanding, cutting factory levers :-)

Re: Safety Selector Modification?
And for those who are wondering, yes they do work with the folding stock!

Re: Safety Selector Modification?
Got mine within a week of ordering, and install was a breeze. I'm really happy with it. It doesn't get in the way of my hand, and yet there's still a little something there for ambidextrous use or right shooting hand operation.

Re: Safety Selector Modification?
After contacting HB Industries I found they'd already experimented with a prototype safety delete and were kind enough to include a pre-production sample with my order. The only reason they aren't selling them online is due to a perceived lack of demand. I encourage anyone who wants one to contact them. It might change their mind.

Re: Safety Selector Modification?
I was sent prototypes of the ambi selectors, the delete, and a third lever that uses the index finger of the right hand to activate. Will post picture of said lever shortly. Gun is currently at my place of employment hanging on wall.

Re: Safety Selector Modification?
The HBi safety selectors are excellent quality and fit. A huge THANK YOU to HBi for actually bringing a useful product to the Kriss Vector line of firearms. I hope they continue to innovate for this platform.

Re: Safety Selector Modification?
I just emailed them asking if I could get a delete button with their left side safety selector. Everyone should try to get word out to other KRISS owners about them. I will post a link to Facebook Kriss Vector Owners group for this thread.

Re: Safety Selector Modification?
Thank you all for the feedback! We received several requests for selector deletes, an initiative headed up by one of the members right here on the KrissTalk forum!
So, we are happy to announce that in addition to safety selectors, we now offer machined aluminum deletes as well :-)
