My folding brace will be here soon...
[table][tr][td]My first major mod to my new pistol was to find a way to have a folding pistol brace for my gen 2 SPD-SB. I bought it on the 28th of October and since that time I had been trying to find a way to get a side folding brace since that time. Initially, I was going to order the SFU adapter that would fold at the buffer tube. I was scrolling through Instagram and came across a company called Advanced Firearms Solutions based out of Sarasota, Florida. On their Instagram they posted a picture of a 10mm Vector with a folding pistol brace that folded at the M4 adapter. I knew I had to have it done to mine and I emailed them to get the ball rolling. I was in contact with Devin Liller, who was very prompt to respond to emails and questions that I had. Basically the work they did was to mill the stock adapter to fit the factory Kriss folding stock parts to fit. I mailed my upper to them, and the hardest part was waiting on Kriss to send the parts to them which took about two weeks. The parts came in on Monday, and I got a call yesterday that my upper would be on the way by Friday.
Anyways, to make a long post short and to add some pictures to make it interesting, this is the work I had done. When I get the upper back I'll take some pictures of it on the gun. Honestly my biggest complaint is that a factory side folding brace isn't an option. I have emailed both Kriss and SB Tactical about this and have gotten two different responses from them. Kriss replied that a side folding brace isn't in development, but that the suggestions would be passed to the R&D team. SB Tactical responded that Kriss would be adapting the Vector platform to allow for a folding mechanism and to check them out around Shot Show.

I wonder why they don't just sell pre fabbed versions of that adapter. I suppose I could just make one at this point. That looks great btw

It looks like they are making something similar now...my Vector is coming with a folding SB, or so the description said. They aren't selling it separately yet however...just like many of the components for the gen 2's and other calibers.

Seriously? Where did you order it from that said that?
I need to bug Kriss to sell me the buffer and spring for my 9mm. I have only put 120 rounds through it, but I want spares anyways.

Re: My folding brace will be here soon...
I got my brace back yesterday. Going into this project, I was told that there would be two "issues": First, it would not say locked in the folded position. Second, the right side safety would need to be on fire for the brace to fold due to the interference with the M4 adapter.
The first picture is with the safety on the pistol, in the fire position. Not ideal, but it does fold to a compact package. The brace is thick, and it does increase the width of the pistol. Currently looking at the Shockwave as a replacement.
The second and third pictures are where it gets interesting. I took the right side safety off in both of these. With it off, I can have the pistol on safe and have it folded to a tighter package. The third picture is with out the Sb tactical brace, which is why I am going to look into the Shockwave brace. We use a lot of them at work, so I am going to pull one from inventory and try it out.
My proposal: a right side safety delete kit that is flush fitting and has an indicator like an arrow that shows the status of the pistol/rifle/sbr. It seems that the right side safety is the common factor that most people want to get rid of and it seems logical that an aftermarket piece should become available.

Everyones loves pictures. I'm going to email Kriss and talk to them about getting a spare right side safety. Me and my buddy at work decided that grinding down a factory safety would be a good start. He also came up with the idea of taking the pin/rivet out, replacing it with a standard pin, and adding a spring around the body of the pin. That way, there would be some tension placed on it when it is folded but still deploy relatively easily.
