New Vector CRB owner from Santa Clara, CA!

Since I'm in CA, I'm still within the 10 day "cooling off period" for buying a gun (sigh), so I only got to touch the thing when I went to the FFL to fill out my DROS form. Pick it up on the 20th! Very Happy

Welcome!
Yep. I take my Kimber to Target Masters and Reed's once in a while.

Lately I've been shooting the SCAR, so I go to Sunnyvale Rod & Gun. Keep meaning to check out the Los Altos Rod & Gun also but haven't made it out there yet (it's a bit farther of a drive, and they don't have late hours like Sunnyvale). Haven't been to Metcalf or Chabot either (Metcalf has terrible hours though, but they do have a 200 yd range).

I'll probably take the Kriss to Svale when I get it to see how it works at 100 yds. I can plink the metal targets at 100 yds all day w/ the SCAR w/ iron sights, so it'll be interesting to see how the Kriss works at that range. I imagine it will be just as good, since 100 yds isn't all that far.

You might have to hold over the target some more.

I know at 200 yds I held a foot above the target.

But KRISS is not an accurate weapon. Part of the problem is the play in the upper and lower receivers. Since teh barrel is in the lower and the sights are on the upper, it is more drastic.

Yeh 200 yds I'd have to hold over a bit or adjust the elevation even on my .308 SCAR 17S (and for my eyes, I think 200 yds might be magnified optic range Smile ). .45 is a big heavy bullet for 200yds, and it's a pistol round after all. :P

I didn't buy the Kriss for long distance though. More 'cause I figured it'd be a good close quarters/home defense weapon, although the CRB is a bit long for that. Also because of the Super V operating system which is unique. And of course 'cause it just looks cool.

Clarify "accurate" for what distance, conditions, and group size being considered? scratch

That's pretty much what I'm thinking too. If I had to shoot something with a .45 at 100+ yards with serious intentions I'd also be thinking I didn't bring the "right" tool for the task at hand. Heck, I'm not too concerned about anything other than "CQB" applications (maybe out to 50 yds for me) with this weapon... which is not a rifle. Very Happy
