What is the short strap for that comes with the SDP
My SDP came with a sling and a short 10" or so strap, can someone tell me what the strap is for?
Also I thought the straps were marked Kriss, mine is just plane black with no lettering at all?

Got a pic of the strap? the normal KRISS Sling is made by someone else and has KRISS SUPER V sort of ironed onto the sling. At least mine does.
The short strap is to wrap your arm thru. Then you pull the kriss forward while keeping you arm or shoulder still. Sort of like a short sling.

KRISS switched OEMs for the new sling (from Urban ERT to Blackhawk) and I wouldn't be surprised if they skipped the co-branding on them to keep the costs down. The bottom of this thread touches on it:msmith wrote:Also I thought the straps were marked Kriss, mine is just plane black with no lettering at all?

Not sure what the short strap you mention is. As Solscud007 suggests, please post a pic. I don't see any reference to it online or in the manual... so far.

I'm going to take a guess that it is used to give you a little more room between the snap/bash hook and the sling. Sort of like an extension cord. Maybe you don't need it with the SDP, but it *might* be part of what comes with the sling itself for use with the CRB or SBR. I only see one sling on KRISS' website.
Imagine that short piece inserted in-between the snap hook and the sling in the first picture:

Doesn't look like they give you much length to work with in the picture below:

excellent good point thanks, I'm waiting on my SBR stamp to come back so I might use it with the stock on in that case depending upon where the sling attachment point is on the stock.

The attachment point is not on the stock at all now, unless you count the special hinge pin. Top rail near rear sight is the primary location it seems.msmith wrote:...I might use it with the stock on in that case depending upon where the sling attachment point is on the stock.
