weak ejection?
Hi all!
neat forum!
i noticed today that my kriss ejects brass very weakly. In youtube videos of krisses being shot, brass flies several feet. With my kriss maybe 1 foot or less. brass is also consistently dented, not sure if that's related. is this a sign of a problem?
totally reliable shooting with the glock mag it came with. consistent failures to eject with kci mags.
second question: how do i find/buy kriss mag extensions in canada?!
thanks!

Re: weak ejection?
hey man, I'm here in canada too. I just bought one of those kci mags too. I havent fire any rounds through it yet but did cycle manually a few rounds by hand to see how they would load. They were jamming in the magazine. So the first thing I did was look inside the mag and the back part of the mag that comes together like teeth wasnt perfectly smooth so I filed the tooth that was out of place down. i'll have to try it out and see how it works now. nothing seems to fit as well as the original glock mag.
As for the mag extentions my friend I would imagine they would be difficult to get given the firearm laws here.

Re: weak ejection?
Dented Brass seems normal. It may also be your ejector that is bad or extractor is worn. two independent things.

Re: weak ejection?
avangel - I am going to see if altering the magazine lips helps - but I think the problem with mine is that they needs to be narrowed, not made wider. PM me if you'd like and we can compare notes.
KRISS magazine extensions would not change the capacity of a pinned glock magazine - it would still only hold 10 rounds - the only difference would be the larger magazine would be easier to hold onto.
I suppose someone could move the extension onto a glock 10-round magazine with no pin and it would become high-capacity... I'm not sure if that *possibility* makes them prohibited devices or not. Better to err on the side of caution I guess. That means they need to make a fixed extension on a pinned mag that can't be moved onto other mags. Probably not a huge market for these.
Solscud007 - what would you suggest I do to diagnose the problem? Should I post a video?
*edit: update
it's ejecting weakly and failing to eject with glock mags and even the factory mag it came with now. I'm taking it back in to be looked at by the gun store...
also noticed that even when it fires correctly, on the final round the brass sits in the ejection port instead of flying out. not wedged in, but just laying on top. Something is definitely not right with the ejection - some people commented when they watched me shoot that the recoil spring might be calibrated for hotter ammo but I'm using 'approved' ammo from the list.

That is exactly what happens to my crb, the last round just sits there not ejecting even getting jammed. what did your gun shop say was the problem??

Re: weak ejection?
I haven't heard back from the gun shop yet. They said they'd call Kriss and that they might need to take it to test it out. I have a feeling this won't be resolved for months.
I'll probably leave it with them to repair, or maybe just ask for my money back. I don't mind waiting but I'd like a time estimate or some recognition of the issue to know that I'm not just getting screwed...
The last round brass sitting there isn't itself a problem to me but I mentioned it in case it helps diagnose the real problem of jamming on ejection that's going on.
when this was happening on my last range trip I think it might have fired with the round incompletely chambered, which is really not good.

I will try different "hotter" ammo maybe it helps Ill post the results as soon as I get back from the range this coming weekend, Ill try to maybe take a picture of it the empty case when it just sits there not ejecting completely.

Re: weak ejection?
update: returned it for warranty repair. Nothing I can do with it. If I had access to spare parts I might try some things that typically solve this issue with other firearms. I will update with wait times and results.

Re: weak ejection?
UPDATE
I received the Kriss back from the vendor and it ejects strongly now. It even feeds from crappy KCI mags without a hiccup! I had one stovepipe from a glock mag, which is strange, but it seems to be 99% fixed, which is a huge relief.
Repair took about 1.5 months from North Sylvia. They charged for shipping to and from for the repair. At least the results were good. There was definitely something wrong with it before and it's fixed.
