Mags will not drop
Just picked up my Kriss today and my magazines will not drop. I bought the mags brand new last week and they are factory G21 mags. It takes some force to get them to come out, you have to put the gun down.
Any ideas?

Re: Mags will not drop
I guess support does not come with the dealer list price....I think u mentioned its the ca version correct?
Re: Mags will not drop
Not sure what you are referring to, I didn't get dealer pricing I paid a premium. The dealer left the invoice from the manufacturer to them in my box. I fell for the "there isn't much markup on these" line.
Since service isn't open at 7pm and this is a Kriss forum I'd thought I'd ask other Vector owners if they ran into this problem. Is that ok?

Yes it is the California version. I was able to get a mag from a buddy and it dropped free but all 4 of mine don't.

Re: Mags will not drop
I have a CA version also and some of my mags drop free (the 25 rounders) and my others do not (13 rounders). I am not bent out of shape as some mags do not drop free in my AR's and my two AUG's and others do. I have learned how to depress the mag release and pull the mag free if need be.

Interesting. How do you hold the gun, use tool to operate bullet button, and pull out mag?
It is also my interpretation of the law that you cannot use high cap mags on a system that utilizes a bullet button?

Re: Mags will not drop
Check my sticky in accessories about Glock 21 mags. If it is a u-notch preban 13 rd mag, then it will not drop free.
Re: Mags will not drop
I read your thread but they are not preban mags, I live in California so they are all 10 rounders. I even looked at the notches and they appear to all be the same.
Here is a pic:
I can't any difference between any of the mags yet some drop free and others don't.

I purchased the CA model only because I got it for a good price. I do not live in CA so I just took a punch, stuck it in the bullet button hole, & popped the little plate off exposing the mag release like it is allowed in all free states. If I am using a mag that does not drop free by itself, I pull the Kriss into my shoulder with the off hand while depressing the mag release with the same hand. I then take my free hand and pull the empty mag out. Even if your Kriss has a bullet button you can use "any" capacity mag you like as long as your state does not prohibit that mag.

I'm in OH, and also bought a "Kalifornia Special." Like MadDog, I was able to use a small punch to "pop" the cover off the mag. release.

I took off the sketchy factory one as well and put on a different one that looks better, easier and removable for when I go out of state.

It does, but each user must add it ("Location" field) to their profile. We don't "require" it, but have pointed out that same idea... it can make it easier sometimes to answer questions if we have an idea where you are located.MadDogDan wrote:ETA: It would be great if this Forum showed what state you live in below your name...

Re: Mags will not drop
Maybe get a digital caliper and check the thickness side to side and front to back of each mag and see if some are out of spec?
Also Tangodown finally makes large frame baseplates.

It will help give your mags a wider plate and easier to grab and rip out of the magwell.

Hi! I am one of the CS Reps at KRISS. I was wondering if you got this figured out? We have a build up in the mag well that makes the magazine not move around so much and cause malfunctions, especially in the 10rd models. This build up does make them a little harder to get out. But let me know what you figured out. You can also contact me by email, if you can't reach us by phone, at v.wagner@kriss-usa.com. Thanks for your feedback!

Re: Mags will not drop
Well I received the Tangodown floorplates and that has helped a lot. I can now grab the base of the mag much easier to pull them out.
Now if I can only fix the other issue....
