Re: Optic Deals list them here
I just bought the OPMOD eotech combo from optics planet it was an excellent deal at $835. U get an eotech exps2-0 and eotech g23 3x magnifier with flip mount. It was a bit of a production but here's what I did. OpticsPlanet.com has OPMOD eotechs for sale on eBay listed with both "buy it now" and "make best offer". I sent them an offer of $800 for an item selling for $920 just to try my luck, they counter offered something like 889 as the lowest possible price but in the offer details it said "call for better pricing" with a phone number an extension. So that's what I did and got it for 835 shipped. Now my only dilemma will be what gun gets the new optics, I'm thinking the magnifier will look better on my AR and run my eotech 556 on the Kriss with no magnifier

I'm building my first AR. Not sure what I'm gonna use for optics just yet. I might try using my old airsoft aim point. I also ave an old tasco 4x32 made in Japan. It is older than me haha. I might put that on.
Re: Optic Deals list them here
When building your ar make sure u get a hand guard that sits flush with the top rail on the ar upper. Go with a free float if u can

Ha, please do not do this... just run irons until you can afford something decent.

Just get any decent hand guard and you won't have a problem. More importantly, never run your optics on the rail.

Don't run optics on the rail? I don't understand. Any one here have an AR and eotec? My eotec is zeroed with my Vector irons. I'm curious if my eotec will line up with my AR sights?
Re: Optic Deals list them here
He's right your better off running your optics on the flat top of the AR upper. On a delta ring system your handgaurd/quad rail can move a little bit throwing off your optics but it's minimal. I have a eotech on my AR a d it's flawless , it's mounted on the last notch of the flat top.

Smurf24k, would you mind taking your Eotec and putting it on your Kriss? Im curious if the Kriss BUIS line up with your eotec. Kriss USA say that only KRISS BUIS will work on the KRISS but I think any AR sight will line up. If that is the case, then my Eotec can be swapped onto my AR when i use my AR.
Re: Optic Deals list them here
I run magpul buis on my AR. Im almost positive that u can swap out the eotech but u will probably have to re-zero it. When I get home from fighting crackheads I'll swap it out and take pics.

Re: Optic Deals list them here
Of course they will. with adjustment. What im wondering is are the KRISS BUIS exact same height as AR BUIS? I have a set of Magpul MBUS but they are for airsoft. They dont line up.
Re: Optic Deals list them here
ok so im really computer illiterate and i cant figure out how to upload these pics from my mac. i can happily txt you pics if you like.
basically with the eotech on the kriss you can only see about 1/4 of the front sight post (the top portion of it) but thats all you really need. On the AR its about the same thing (im running magpul buis too but not the airsoft ones)
my irons r not zeroed in on the eotech, i zeroed them both in on paper at 100yrds seperately. Taking the kriss out tomorrow to pop her cherry and re-zero both guns after swapping the optics around

Re: Optic Deals list them here
You should zero the AR at 50 yds. Aka battle zero. It will work for 200 yds as well.
I think the KRISS is zeroed at 50 yds (but that does not translate to 200 yds like the AR) I zeroed my eotec to my KRISS BUIS. Well I will just have to see how it looks when I get my AR built.

Re: Optic Deals list them here
Thanks for the tip. The buis will look the same on the AR as they do on the kriss

Somebody with digital calipers, and time, please confirm... but I believe the front post itself is a different height between the KRISS "flavor" and your standard AR front post. Anybody?

Re: Optic Deals list them here
Almost positive it's not any different... I can't imagine a reason Kriss would design the top rail and the sights around co-witnessing with an eotech... That would be just silly

Re: Optic Deals list them here
I don't think it's around the EOTech so much as the ballistic diffs (intended range) between a 5.56/.223 and .45ACP. When I have asked KRISS USA about using "other" AR sights, I was told I could if I swapped out the front sight post from the KRISS (MWI) sight into the AR sight. (The rear would not be different.) What I didn't get from KRISS USA was the actual height diffs in the post to see about just ordering the same height post from a 3rd party to put into something like the Magpul MBUS 2 (just an example).GlocksInMySocks wrote:Almost positive it's not any different... I also asked MWI a while back (Monday, August 23, 2010) but didn't press them for details of the height...
Mike
The height and spring tensions are different for the kriss carbine

Hello,
I understand you folks did the flip-up sight system for the "KRISS Super V". Their documentation says no other "standard" AR type sights will work on their weapon. What is the difference between the sights you made for the KRISS and your other AR sights?
Regards,
Mike
I have used my EOTech 552 on the Vector, AR (M&P 15T carbine length), and Beretta CX4 just fine. The AR and Vector co-witness on the post (with sighting adjustment for each); the CX4 aligns their irons in the lower 1/3 of the EOTech window.

Re: Optic Deals list them here
And just for trivia in this thread... I also asked TROY Industries (Monday, March 05, 2012) about the sights that they are now making for KRISS USA, but again... didn't press this OEM for details:
Good Afternoon
There are some differences in the KRISS peeps in their sights vs our standard HK sights. Please let me know if you need any more information.
Thank you

Hello,
What are the differences, if any, between your "regular" BattleSights (HK folding) and the ones that are branded "KRISS" (for the KRISS Vector series of weapons)?

Mike
