Optic dilema
Okay, currently I have a SCAR 16S with an ACOG TA31/RMR Combo, I have a EOTECH 512 on my KSG and no optic on my LWRC M4 SPR. I am expecting my Tax stamp sometime around April, at which point, I will take possession of a SBR Kriss Vector.
I want an optic for the Kriss and am wondering what everyone would recommend. Alternatively, also considering moving the EOTECH to the Kriss and putting something else on my KSG.
Right now, I am thinking about either an Aimpoint Micro T1, Trijicon SRS or a Vortex Sparc (much less expensive). I am also thlhinking about a 3x or 5x magnifier with a quick detach/slide to side mount sometime in the future, so that whatever I get for either the KSG or the Kriss might also be able to be mounted to the LWRC.
What direction do you guys recommend? Should I purchase an optic for the KSG and move the EOTECH to the Kriss or purchase an optic for the Kriss and leave the EOTECH on the KSG? I am very interested in everyone's thoughts and in any other optic choices that I might be overlooking. Thanks!

Re: Optic dilema
I have a 512 Eotech on my M4 and love it! I have an Aimpoint Pro on my Kriss SBR and prefer it to an Eotech on it. (tried both). It is on or off in a couple of seconds and is very natural to point with the factory riser in place. The dot is centered and the flip ups are about 1/4" below. I,m sure that if I removed the riser they would co-witness, but I prefer it the way it is, because there is no interference between them yet both are easily used if needed. The best part of the Aimpoint is the recomended battery change out is 3-5 years, left on 24/7. Try them both before you jump, nothing is cheap anymore! It boils down to personal preferance. Good luck

Re: Optic dilema
I tried the sparc really wanted it to work for me due to the price point, but I couldn't get over the VERY green hue of the optic which was very distracting to me....so I returned it and went with an eotech xps2...clear as water no green hue....and no doubt a better quality optic all the way around. You get what you pay for of course....good luck.

Re: Optic dilema
I think I am uniquely qualified to answer your question as I too own a KSG. ( I also have a SCAR 17) we have good taste in firearms haha.
Put the KRISS BUIS and eotech on the KSG. Get another set of BUIS for the KRISS. Or vice versa. I found the KRISS BUIS to be perfect for the KSG. I didnt even bother zeroing them to the KSG. Since my Eotech is zeroed to my KRISS sights, they line up with the Kriss BUIS on the KSG. My Vector has KRISS Magpul Prototype (early KRISS production) MBUS, so they line up with my Eotech.
Also the 12 O'clock position of the Eotech lines up with my SCAR 17 BUIS.
Here is an older video from last June. I hadnt figured out the best reload technique for the KSG yet. So my reloads are painfully slow and awkward. But you can see the Eotech on the KSG.

Interesting......So, are you telling me that you switch the EOTECH back and forth between the KRISS and the KSG with out having to re-zero once it was originally zeroed to the KRISS?

Re: Optic dilema
Since your buying a optic anyways you just got to pick which one you really want since for the most part they all will interchange on all your weapons . I favor Eotechs, for the money they can't be beat. Mine are deadly accurate and stay that way ( just ask the deer). Careful with the magnifiers, for the money I prefer a dedicated magnified scope. Just my opinion and we all know opinions are like ....and we all got one.

Yep. Since I use KRISS irons on my KSG, the Eotech is zeroed to the KRISS Sights on my KRISS. Zeroing doesnt change since the irons are the same. Granted I am using two different set of irons but they are zeroed the same.
No need to rezero the Eotech.

Will the standard mount for the Aimpoint T-1 work with a magnifier when I switch the Aimpoint over to my AR or will I need a QD mount that is higher?

Re: Optic dilema
I think you will have other issues to deal with. Mainly the zero of the aimpoint. As it is just a dot, the ballistics of a 45 acp is not that much similar to a 223.

No, No, No....I think I did a bad job explaining. I would use the Aimpoint Micro on the Kriss without a magnifier and then switch it to the AR to use with the magnifier.

Re: Optic dilema
Should work. But my point still stands. Your aim point will have to be rezeroed.
Best to zero to the AR as it shoots further than the Kriss. Then try the aim point on the Kriss. I bet you the point of aim vs point of impact will be off.

I agree with this - up close you will be fine but the 45 drops off fast

Re-zeroing doesn't bother me...green laser boresighter to get on paper, then two shots to zero and done.
