Cheap Optics? Empty Cheap Optics?

Post by bigrob_872004 Thu Nov 29, 2012 10:07 pm

I know it seems odd, but has anyone used a "less expensive" type of red dot? I intend on getting an EOTech but until then I wanted to play around with something at the range. For that matter has anyone experimented with magnified optics? Post pics if you can.

I use an airsoft replica of an aimpoint magnifier. No sense in spending lots of money for magnification. But I lucked out and got a used Eotech for 250. Cant beat that.

truglo optics arent bad, i have one on .308, one on CX4 9mm, and rem 597 .22

cheaperthandirt.com probably has best prices on them ~40-$80, i havent had any problems with them holding zero, nice glass, made in ch ch ch china.

strikefire good choice if you want to spend a little more, stay away from barska, leapers, utg, bsa ncstar imo.

I've got a centerpoint on mine as of now, It was given to me as an extra on a trade. I have not shot it with it yet but i will let you all know how it does. It is worth noting that I did have to get a .5" riser to allow a co-witness.

I bought this Sightmark Ultra Shot Sight for my vector. I have put probably 500 rounds with the sight on it and once I zeroed it...it hits the mark. Read the reviews on amazon, This is no combat grade optic but if your looking for something to hold you over til the eotech (like I myself am doing) this little guy is fun!

Equally impressive is the fact that I have detached and re-attached with the quick release lever and if you make sure you put it in the same spot (mark your rail if you can) it stays damn near where you zeroed it. I went to the range the other day and I just clipped it on where I normally do, then i lined it up and I put 3 rounds in the same hole at 75 ft at the indoor range...no great feat I know but like I said it is impressive for $100 bucks.

**Note do not buy the one with the laser attached...mine was DOA and a waste of 10 bucks.

I put a Bushnell Trophy TRS-25 on my CRB and have had no problems, price was just under $100.00 if you shop around and have put 700+ rounds with no problems. The battery is the 2032 so fairly cheap, I did have to put two short rail mounts on, 1/2" high each 1" total, to get it high enough to use the BUIS that came with the KRISS but works fine and it co-witnessed just fine.

Firefield Kemper XL anyone tried or checked this out. Has bullet drop compensator which would be great for the Kriss in close quarters to accurately shoot close...

Cheap Optics? Empty Bushnell TRS-25 Trophy

bigrob. If we are talking about the same item, here is my comment from my previous post.

I put a Bushnell Trophy TRS-25 on my CRB and have had no problems, price was just under $100.00 if you shop around, I have put 700+ rounds down range with no problems.
