Free Float Handguard

Okay.... NEED to know who makes this hand guard! Is it made specifically for the KRISS?



Is it free float? Does it go over the existing barrel shroud? And lastly, how is the cerakote / durakote holding up on the plastic lower receiver?

I am sure the person that modified an existing hand guard to fit will chime in here. It looks to me like the barrel is bare without the shroud because the barrel sits near the top of the hand guard not in the center of it not leaving enough clearance. The only hand guard that is a "drop in" fit that will allow the use of the shroud is the Diamond Sights, as far as I know.

That is a first gen Midwest Industries handguard. I chopped it with a dremel cutoff disc. Drilled it so it can bolt to the side mounting points.

Yes it fits over the shroud. But I didn't do a very good job on it so it scratches the shroud a bit. So I took it off.
