LF: Gen II Barrel Shroud Screw
After many hours going back and forth between hair dryer and high power soldering iron to loosen the factory loctite, I finally managed to remove the shroud but the screw is still stuck in there. The screw head is a bit stripped from the heat. I'm afraid of damaging the thread so I'm leaving the barrel naked for now until I can figure out a better solution to remove the stuck screw.
The shroud had a little play after couple hundreds of rounds. I wanted to take it off, clean it and re tighten it. I think they shouldn't use a gorilla loctite on such a tiny screw.
Does anyone know where I can get a replacement barrel shroud screw for gen 2? I think I may have to drill through to take it out.

Hi Animex,
Sorry to hear that you had so much trouble with the screw. You can probably find a replacement screw from any hardware store, or call KRISS. The part number is 12120055 for the square shroud set screw. It also looks like KRISS has a new hand guard that fits over the square shroud in the works.

That hand guard looks really nice! I want one for sure!
Still waiting for Kriss to send me a form to fill out for the replacement screw. Last year I sent an email to Ruger about a missing screw while cleaning my 8yo's SR22 (My 4yo played with the screw and lost it lol) and they mailed me couple replacement right away without question. Received it within few days.
Where do I find the part number you gave me? I tried goggling it but nothing came up.

They just got back to me. Disappointed with their slow email response. Unfortunately they can't send a replacement screw across the border to Canada. I couldn't wait for their reply, I asked a machine shop to make me a couple screws. And I had no problem with Ruger and ProMag sending me some replacement screws in an envelope. They arrived pretty fast too, within a week after I pm'd them through facebook. No form to fill out, etc. I hope no other parts of this gun will come apart in the future, so far so good except the shroud coming lose.

Re: LF: Gen II Barrel Shroud Screw
I tried to take the screw off of my Gen 2 shroud, and it is not moving even after a few minutes of butane lighter and then 10 minutes of indirect torch heat (heat applied to an allen wrench). Not sure what the next step is at this point but for now the shroud is free to wiggle.
