Pistol vs Carbine
Hello,
Recently, I've been lusting after a KRISS and wanted something new in the arsenal. My future plan would to SBR it and use it as a house gun.
Given that, I was thinking of getting the pistol version, and then adding a stock to it, once my stamp is approved. However, I don't feel like sending it back to KRISS for them to take off the sling point. Is this something that I can do?
My question comes w/ a little ignorance, since I haven't seen a pistol at any of my LGS, so I can't tell about how the sling point is held onto the frame.
FWIW, I'm pretty mechanically incline and can build 1911s, so working on guns isn't a challenge. So if removing the sling point is a little hard, I don't mind the challenge.
Thanks all.

Re: Pistol vs Carbine
Welcome. You are not the only person to do this. Beltfed already got his Tax Stamp back but he is on deployment so it will be a while before he can actually do the switch.
Do a search and you will find a thread about it.
You need to pop a roll pin that holds the butt end onto the Vector lug. The lug is similar to the stock release button but it is screwed into the receiver. Drill out the hinge pin screw and pop that pin. Slide the butt end to the right off the Vector Lug. There should be a screw that holds the Lug to the upper receiver, unscrew it. Remove the top rail and there should be a slot to remove the square nut.
You need to order the stock and stock latch parts. I recommend our dealer, Black Label Tactical. He has some in stock.
Dont forget that you will need to engrave the lower for the SBR info.

Thanks for the reply.
I just found the thread that you're referring to and it's a great asset.

Waiting on my AR SBR stamp to clear and come back before I look into a KRISS and getting that SBR.

Re: Pistol vs Carbine
You should also look into a suppressor for the KRISS. SBR is great but too much muzzle flash compared to the carbine.

Here is another one outdoors. First video is with my Nightshot sony camera. Then my normal spectrum Flip HD camera. There is no muzzle flash out of the carbine.
Now compared to this guy. He rocked an AR pistol.

Great vid. Thanks.
Oh, trust me, my plan is to also use it as a host for a can. SBR + 45ACP + can = AWESOMENESS!!!
Most likely will go with an Osprey can.
