Hello everyone.  I am considering becoming a Powertac dealer through my motorcycle business.  To that end I am "auditioning" three of their lights.  I should receive them tomorrow or Thursday at the latest.  The lights are the Cadet, E5, and E10.  I currently use surefire lights almost exclusively and am extremely happy with them but many of my customers have asked me for alternatives.  If any of you have experience with any of these please let me know what you think of them.  I will post my initial thoughts shortly after I receive them.  Thanks

I purchased a cadet a few months ago. It is a amazing option for the Kriss Vector weapon system. Quality is excellent, light projection the same. I believe that for the purpose of a weapon light to fit the Kriss receptacle the Cadet is the ideal alternative to the Surefire.  Powertac has a no hassle lifetime warranty.  I spoke to the master distributor and he confirmed this as well.  Basically they will replace the light if it fails .


 I received all three flashlights today and the initial impression is good.  The packaging is nicely done and looks as good as many of the surefire boxes that I have received.  All three lights, the Cadet, E5 and E10 are very well made.  The bodies, heads, and caps are all machined extremely well with each fitting together very precisely.  Threads on body, head, and cap are also very precise and engage very smoothly.  They also seem to engage the seals (o-rings) very firmly probably creating a very water tight unit.  I am not an expert on flashlights but in 20 years involved in the motorcycle business I have seen a lot of machined parts (have even milled some myself) and I can say for sure that these lights are manufactured to an extremely high quality in both material and craftsmanship.  All three lights are very powerful for their size, 300, 700, and 380 lumen respectively.  The following are some specs on all three.

Sor far so good.  I mounted the E5 on my AR 9mm SBR and took it out for a spin.  Put 300 rounds down range with no issues ( didn't expect any).  I really like the 700 lumen in this compact, light unit.  Fits well with the over all minimal concept I am going for on this particular weapon.  I have been using the E10 as an EDC and again am impressed with power of this small light.  The map or firefly mode came in handy on my motorcycle ride yesterday evening and fit extremely well in either my pocket or the tine under seat compartment of my Ducati motorcycle.  The cadet is going into my SBR Kriss but I do not have it yet.  I expect it to perform as well as the other two lightsAuditioning Powertac lights DSCF2461

Thanks Kipp.  I looked at that thread prior to posting mine.  My goal is to determine personally if these lights are worth me taking on as a dealer.  So far I believe that they have performed every bit a well as any of my surefire lights both on and off my weapons.  If I do take them on I will try to offer them to the members here at a great deal.  (I am not in the gun business, I am in the motorcycle business BTW)

Thanks for posting the Powertacs. I just put a Cadet into my CRB. It fits perfectly and really works well. The much lower price is nice too. I'm going to get another one for my SDP. Here is a picture of it installed on the CRB.
