Charging handle side rail mods
So as many of you may have noticed, having a rail on the left side of the Kriss is rather stupid. It gets in the way of grabbing the charging handle, and we havent even put anything on it yet!!
I had been thinking of making a rail that is mounted but position lower to help clear the charging handle.
I dont know about you guys but I may have found something that could work. Although it is for a specific use and not as resourceful as a rail.
Haley Strategic created this light mount for the SureFire Scoutlight. There are adapters to use with e-series lights or 1" body lights like the 6PX or G2 series.
Ignore the bottom one. That is for rail mounting.
I got measurements and it is too short to fit the 2 inch gap between the hard points on the side of the Kriss. However It may be possible to drill a new hole into the aluminum. This will allow me to mount my SureFire Scout forward of the Kriss and away from the charging handle.
I need to order one and test it out.

Sadly it is not cheap. $50.

Dont think so. The scout mount points are too close together. Dropwing has enough material to drill a third hole for the correct spacing.
Re: Charging handle side rail mods
So I had been looking at the Haley Strategic Dropwing scoutlight mount. It is back ordered. But it is designed to shift a SureFire scoutlight forward of a rail on an AR platform. It got me thinking that is what I want to do for my Vector. Right now Im using a SureFire E1E body, SureFire KX2C clone head, and a SR-07 remote railed switch. I dont like the momentary only tape switch and optioned for the SR-07 so I can have a constant on but it requires to be mounted on a rail. So my left rail is used up.
The Dropwing looks like it could be used to attach the scoutlight. But since I cant get one to try it out I figured out a poorman's mock up. I used a thick piece of Kydex that my friend had as scrap. I had some spare screws that match the mounting points and they are close enough to screw into the Scoutlight body.
