Mags not dropping free
I'm new to the Kriss world and just picked up a brand new, pre-order, unfired, CRB/SO. This was the 52nd to ever be available to the public (and I only say this because I'm not sure if it has something to do with whats going on). I haven't fired a round through it yet, nor have I even chambered a round, but when I put one of the included Glock mags into the mag well it's a tight fit. and when I press the mag release it doesn't drop the mag free. I have to physically grab the mag and with a little bit of effort pull it out of the mag well. I'm not sure if this is how the Kriss was designed and the well needs to be warn in or if this might be a flaw with the very early models?? If anyone has had any experience please chime in.
Thanks so much, and it's great to be here and meet everyone!

Re: Mags not dropping free
Ok it sounds like who ever sold the KRISS might have given you Pre-ban mags. Take a look at the back of the mag. Look at the notch at the top. Is it U shaped? If it is then they were designed to do that. Simply just go buy some used G21 mags in the Buy/Sell/Trade section. Or buy some brand new ones.
Take a look at this thread I made to help identify mags.

@ CatMostFeared: Well it's good to know that they "should" drop free. Now I just have to figure out why they don't *scratches head*.
Yes, I have the 103rd Kriss to roll off the line. From the research I've done the first 51 Kriss's were reserved for celebrities and important gun people before they were ever produced. So mine is 52nd to be made available to the general public. You could only get it if you pre-order it. Which is why I think it may have something to do with my gun and not the mags. I haven't contacted Kriss yet. I thought I would see if anyone else has heard of this first.

Got pics? Im curious to see your Serial Number. Did you take a look at the magazine itself?
Also try to PM Mambro, our other Moderator. He lives in McKinney and maybe you two can meet up and compare KRISS vectors.

@ Solscud007: I read your post and I believe I have the 13rd post ban. Here is a pic of them:

Yep. Hmm very odd that the mag well is so tight. What is your serial number? Does it start with an "X"?
Re: Mags not dropping free
Yeah my serial number is TDIC 00103. I actually PMed him last night, because I saw he was from McKinney and thought it would great to go to the range with someone who has experience with Kriss's before I put a round through mine.

Lol...I think I'll have to pass on that one. It took a while to find this one and I can't imagine another one strolling along anytime soon.

Re: Mags not dropping free
After reading that thread I went to all my paperwork that came with the Kriss and found the lifetime warranty registration card. Completely blank and unregistered. I guess the previous owner never registered it (unless he did it online). Which would be wonderful, because as far as Kriss will know I'll be the first any only owner. I can't wait to get out to the range to shoot this baby. I really want to get this mag issue resolved before I go though. Make sure everything is tip top before it goes out to the range.

Re: Mags not dropping free
You might need to send it back to KRISS USA then. If not get the extensions. It will help give you something to hold onto. Otherwise you can order some of my magrips.

Re: Mags not dropping free
I would love to have the extensions (and the plates look pretty cool too). However, I none of that makes any difference if the mag well is tight enough that it hangs on to them. I have to completely come out of a comfortable firing position to be able to change mags. Which is really counter productive from the intention of the firearm. I'm in the process of contacting Kriss now to see what they say.

Re: Mags not dropping free
The KRISS weapon system is already difficult to drop mags as the mag release is on the left side of the weapon. I am working on a right side mag release that you can operate with the right index finger of your shooting hand. Assuming you are right handed like me.
But yes, mags not dropping freely is annoying. Which is why I made those magrips. For my Preban mags that act like the mags in your gun.

Re: Mags not dropping free
Yes I am, and that would be a WONDERFUL addition to the firearm. You can sign me up as your first customer for that one.

Re: Mags not dropping free
I just contacted Kriss and left a message. When I registered it they sent me an email that said,
"You have successfully extended your warranty for 1 year, starting from the registration date.
If you have any questions about your account or any other matter, please feel free to contact us at customerservice@kriss-usa.com or by phone at (757) 821-1089 ext. 302."
So I called the number and left a message asking about the lifetime/1yr warranty and mentioned that I had some questions about my mag well. So we'll see what they say when they call back.

Re: Mags not dropping free
Good luck. Im interested to see how long it takes them to get back to you.
Re: Mags not dropping free
Yep, that's me... and aaarrrgh... I suck. I am crazy busy right now and won't be able to hit the range for a while. That said, I'll offer that I have a CRB (TDIC01091) with the lifetime warranty... and when I sent it in to Daniel for a "refresh" they essentially sent me back a new weapon. There have been MANY updates/revisions since yours (and mine) first left the shop. Here is a thread on it:Dabaum_85 wrote:I actually PMed him last night, because I saw he was from McKinney...

Well I don't know if you would be interested in getting together to show me the ropes, but I'm off for the next 2 days. Just throwing it out there.

Well Nick Ferros just got back to me and gave me an RMA number to send in my Kriss. He seemed very nice and mentioned that there are a couple of things that they will do to the Kriss to bring it up to speed. Hopefully, it'll get back to me in better working order so I can finally put it's first (non factory) round through it! Thanks again for the heads up!

Re: Mags not dropping free
No problem. That was faster than normal. One thing they might alter is the angle of your safety selector. Ours is 3 and 6 o'clock. The new ones are like 5 and 7. If you don't want that, make sure you tell them.
Re: Mags not dropping free
I just received my crb with gen 4 mag & I ordered a 25+ round mag from KRISS & they both don't drop free.
That's the only gripe so far. Anyone have any solutions? Do I need to sand the inside mag well?
