KRISS Vector Lights
The KRISS light adapter only allows single cell surefire lights like the E1E, E1L or E1B to be used in the KRISS. It is the design of the set screw and light receptacle. You could use a 2 cell light like a E2D but it wont stay secured.
You can get a 1x cell extension and use E2D heads or scoutlight heads.

Re: KRISS Vector Lights
I heard on the SBR powder carbon builds up on them because they stick out passed the barrel so I'll need a light and suppressor

Kinda defeats the purpose of having a SBR.
One thing I would like to test out is putting the KM2 IR light head on the SBR. I cant because the shroud gets in the way, the KM2 (IR scoutlight head) is too fat.
Re: KRISS Vector Lights
it's no worse than what you see on a pistol with a weapon light. just reach up and wipe it off.
Also, as this is my first post, thanks for the forum!! this is a great resource for us!

You are welcome. Actually my friends use weaponshield. They say you coat the light with it and after shooting, the carbon wipes right off.
I havent tried this even though I use weaponshield. Since I have the carbine, the long barrel goes past the light. So havent had to worry about carbon.
Re: KRISS Vector Lights
HI Guys
I just picked up the SBR and I was wondering if the SureFire M300A mini scout light would fit in the light holder above the barrel. I can't find a lot of info on light options for the Kriss.
Thanks

Re: KRISS Vector Lights
Canuckshooter, sorry but the M300A body will not fit. The Kriss light receptacle and adapter are designed with a specific body. Single cell E-series. So the only ones that work are E1B, E1E, & E1L. Old school crosshairs teardrop executive light bodies will not work.
The head of the M300A will work with a single cell body. But the M300A body will not fit.

Re: KRISS Vector Lights
This variation has always been on my mind. As I dont have a SMG or SBR, I didnt know if this was possible. Then it dawned on me, just remove the shroud. If it clears without the shroud, then it can clear the SBR barrel. Im just not sure where the SBR barrel ends. I believe it would be too short, I mean from Bigdomphoto shoot of KRISS the E1B head goes past the SMG barrel.
Anyway here is the first Vampire KRISS Vector (Vampire is the name for SureFire's IR line of lights)

Re: KRISS Vector Lights
So on the far extreme end of weapon mounted lights. I just got a SureFire Hellfighter. Iit is normally mounted onto 50 cal machine guns mounted onto a Humvee or helicopter.
Surely this is more than enough for the KRISS.

Was that a question Marty? I couldnt tell. If it was then No. It has one mode. Ridiculously High haha.

Re: KRISS Vector Lights
Mambro, It sort of was. My friend suggested I "mount" the Hellfighter to the KRISS just for fun.
e1b light package, $218
I don't see paying $299 to Kriss for this light. Can anybody verify these 3 parts work? Same thing?
$112 light+$35 adapter+$71switch, so $218 vs $299 maybe another 20 in shipping 3 things vs 1. still +$60 vs kriss site. thats like..150 rds :P

Re: KRISS Vector Lights
That looks to be the right kit. From what I see online, you should only have to pay for S/H from KRISS... the E1B and tape switch ship for free (and both show in stock) at places like SKD Tactical and B&H Photo... but looks like B&H Photo is throwing in a pair of SF123A batteries to sweeten the deal. Ya know... just for sport, I'd call KRISS and ask them if they would like to "match" the offer (incl free s/h on the 2 pieces). You can either pay them or pay somebody else.

Re: KRISS Vector Lights
Yep all sounds kosher with those options. If you want to bother you can try checking out CPFmarketplace.com forums. In the flashlight parts for sale section people often sell the tape switch and UEXX tailcap. But that B&H deal is pretty good. If you want to really penny pinch, you can get the E1B off of ebay or that marketplace for under $100.
Re: KRISS Vector Lights
Curious if anyone has the exact part number for the tape switch for a E1B. Reason I ask, I just got off the phone with a supplier and they said that the switch (mentioned above) would not fit the E1B.
If anyone can point me to the correct switch, that would be really helpful.
Does Kriss sell these as separate items?

Re: KRISS Vector Lights
The SureFire part number for the tape switch used in the KRISS Vector config is the UE07. It is marketed as "Remote Switch Assembly for Scout Lights":pureporsche wrote:Curious if anyone has the exact part number for the tape switch for a E1B. http://www.surefire.com/remote-tailcap-switch-assembly-for-scout-light.html
There are some other parts that are interchangeable between scout and executive series, like this Z68 tailcap for example:
http://www.surefire.com/tailcap-switch-for-scout-light-e-series-flashlights.html
Note that the description calls out "Fits: Flashlights with .75" diameter switch and Scout Light WeaponLights, including E2L-HA-WH, E1B, E1L-HA-WH, L4-HA-WH, E2D-BK, E2DL-BK, M300A, M600B, M620C KIT01, M620V, , M620C, E1E-HA, M600C"
When the supplier looks at a spec sheet for the UE07, it probably does not include the E1B as the marketing/intent of that light is for snag-free pocket use... not really for weapon mounting.
http://www.surefire.com/illumination/flashlights/e1b-backup.html
I don't think KRISS-USA sells the switch by itself, but even if they did, I expect it would cost more from them than from just about any other SureFire reseller.

Re: KRISS Vector Lights
Thanks for the clarification, and appreciate the fast response.
My confusion arose from a question I posted to the supplier...
Question:
I'm looking for a pressure switch for a Surefire E1B. Could you let me know if this switch will fit the E1B light and if not, do you provide one that does.
Supplier Response:
To be honest, none of them do. We actually tried to do that and make a weapon light out of it, but apparently SureFire made it so that it wouldn't be compatible with any of their switches.
SO as you can imagine - I'm a little confused.
That was for an item listed on amazon:

Re: KRISS Vector Lights
The Amazon link shows OpticsPlanet as the actual seller... and I would hope they would know what they are talking about... but in this case, I think they have it wrong (if it was OpticsPlanet who responded to your question.)
I just sent an email off to SureFire directly about the E1B and UE07 combo and will post what they respond with.

There are several here with the light package, myself included. I just don't see any part number markings on the switch assembly on mine.nih wrote:so nobody actually has the kriss light package? would be nice if we could see part number from the switch they sell.
