I picked this up at Cabela's. It is the enhanced version. No need for NFA or register this bodykit/furniture upgrade.
I used my KRISS mag.

I've seen those before, haven't decided yet if I like 'em... ? It'll be interesting to hear your impressions of it. Will you be using it in competitions?
Is the blue gun for Airsoft or Simunitions?
I haven't used a laser much for sighting, do you use yours in addition to the optic sight? I have a light/laser already that will go on the SDP when I get it, so I'll be trying it out then... If I don't get impatient and put it on my long-slide Taurus 24/7 first!

Re: Glock 21 45 ACP (Adaptive Carbine Platform) aka 45acp PDW
I was just testing out various accessories. I am happy with this setup. The side rails are really only good when used with a vertical grip. However adding a vertical grip is illegal unless registered NFA with ATF.
So I added an offset rail for my Scoutlight and I activate it with my trigger finger. Not a fan of that setup. I prefer a more direct control of the light.
I will shoot it this weekend during a indoor pistol match. I recenlty got a custom kydex holster for my Glock 21. And I want to use it as well. The indoor pistol match is run with lights on. Then with time permitting we turn the lights off. I think I will utilize the PDW during lights out and see how it functions.
The bluegun is for future custom holsters. I have a friend that makes kydex holsters. I may have him make me some with different lights on the Glock 21. As he is in NJ and doesnt have an FFL, he cannot legally posses my guns to work on them. So that is the purpose of the Blue gun,

Okay, sounds good. Looking forward to the review.
It sounds better if you say the blue gun is your "inert training device for close-quarters, hand-to-hand combat training."

Re: Glock 21 45 ACP (Adaptive Carbine Platform) aka 45acp PDW
Suddenly it all makes sense!
I kind of like this... thing... but simply could not figure out WHY a company would go to such lengths to design and produce it.
Then I read this from a FB post response to something else:
Anyway this is a new take on an already popular modification in Israel. This started out as a folding stock model and progressed to this model. Israeli's are only allowed one handgun which is why these modifications were created. This gives the shooter a stable platform to shoot handgun rounds with accuracy at greaterdifferences distances.
I have a friend (Double Tapper) who post here at times who is retired from the Isayeret (special forces). He says even the IDF use the folding stock model.
NOW I understand where and why this exists! Makes perfect sense in the proper context!

I think you are quoting Phil White, senior editor of The Firearm blog. I recall reading something about that.
This is actually produced by a different company. Not sure exactly who, but it isnt Sig Sauer.

iTac sells IMI defense holsters as well as the Adaptive Carbine Platform.
The ACP even says "MFG by iTAC Defense"

Folding stock = stamp
Dont get caught "putting one on"
Yea that's how these originated- It is cool -- similiar to the SDP

I dont need a stock. That is what the sling is for. Also don't put a vertical grip on it or the SDP. You can use an AFG as ATF have covered this and it is NOT considered a vertical grip.
Re: Glock 21 45 ACP (Adaptive Carbine Platform) aka 45acp PDW
Thats what I was getting at -- SDP owners will adapt to this platform very easy (if you ride the sling)
But most others I think will want to put the folding stock on cause thats what it was originally developed for.
Its great considering if fits a lot of pistols with the bottom rail.
How much $ if you dont mind?

I bought the "enhanced" version for $450. It came with that chinese made micro red dot and a single point sling. I sold the sling and QD mount for $20 since I have plenty of those.
Sig charges $200 for the mini red dot.
http://www.sigsauer.com/SigStore/sts-081-mini-red-dot-sight-286.aspx
Sling is $30

So $450-$200-$20= $230.
The iTAC defense ACP goes for about $305 online.

Re: Glock 21 45 ACP (Adaptive Carbine Platform) aka 45acp PDW
I shot the ACP today at a local indoor pistol match. I used it on one stage with lights off.
It performed as I imagined. But what I did not anticipate was my dirty remanufactured ammo. It made it hard to see my targets when transitioning. Due to my flashlight. I thought maybe the shroud might encapsulate the smoke.
So I reshot the stage without the ACP. And with proper grip technique, a pistol can shoot flat.
See this video. (not me but the use of weaver vs isosceles)

Also with an RMR sight attached to my slide, there isnt much that the ACP PDW does that my Glock 21 can do.

Here is a video from today's pistol match. I used my Glock 21 and in the first lights out I used the Adaptive Carbine.
Re: Glock 21 45 ACP (Adaptive Carbine Platform) aka 45acp PDW
Here is another video. It is just edited to show the ACP vs my Glock without the ACP.
