New Here w/ammo question
I have a Kriss CRB on the way and can't wait to get it. The thing is the only .45 available at my dealer is American Eagle and I refuse to shoot the reloads available here. I have read that some people are having issues with that brand but I am not to sure if it was a Mag issue at the start. Can anyone chime in on this if they have shot the American Eagle brand ammo with/without issues.

I did my first shots with American Eagle FMJ and worked flawlessly.

ive shot a couple boxes, no issues, buy a couple, see if they cycle, buy more imo. remember parts wear down/break in to, an ammo that wont load or fte issues on a new gun might run fine after you've ran a couple 1000 rds thru it.

I may get a few boxes to run thru but here it costs $44 a box. I'll be ordering online soon but i'm finding only Aguila in bulk...I have shot Aguila in .22 only and they were reliable...more reliable than the green boxed Remingtons I bought. But I have read some bad reviews on Aguila .45 ACP....but have also read some good reviews aswell...I may order a case to try out in a week or two

I couldn't believe $44 per box until I noticed where you live. 45ACP here in my state runs $20 to $24 per box. I have used Aquila in 45ACP in my 1911's and will never do it again. The 230 gr FMJ was way too hot (think +P+) and very dirty but if that's all you got then use it.

Re: New Here w/ammo question
My standard 13 rounders fed the American Eagle stuff with no problems after I sanded all the flash--haven't sanded down my extended mags yet. If you take apart the mags (standard or not) and file/sand down the flashing you shouldn't have the problem. The flashing is just an artifact of the molding process and lacking in the fit/finish department.

I'm not familiar with the flash. Which part is this?

Re: New Here w/ammo question
here ammo prices has been up the roof the past few years...I used to buy 9mm at $8 a box now it's in the $20-$30 range. I thought $44 was expensive till I saw the prices for 5.7x28,,,it's double the price of the .45.

Re: New Here w/ammo question
pagarpar- The "flash (or flashing)" he is talking about is just little bits of plastic that stick out along the edges of the magazine shell. It's excess plastic from the molding process, it's not actually a "part" of the gun or magazine (like the floorplate). ;)

pagarpar--sorry, I should have been more clear about my explanation. Jedi380's spot-on, just some extra material leftover from manufacturing.
